5 best books on trust and deception
Trust is by far my favorite topic, and when pulling up my reviews of these books, I realized that you’re going to hear that a lot because I mention this fact in most of the reviews. I read as many books as possible on this topic because it’s so important for our day-to-day lives, but it’s probably something we think about the least for most of our interactions. Sure, we think about trust within our relationships, but what about everything else?
We trust drivers on the road to be sober and not drive like lunatics. We trust that the freeway overpass isn’t going to collapse. We trust the medicine we’re given. We trust the people who handle our food. We trust websites with our data and the passwords we use for all of our other accounts. It’s pretty crazy when you think about it.
To trust is a phenomenon that’s difficult to explain, but many of the books in this list do a pretty good job. Outside of learning to trust, it’s also important to know how not to get scammed because that’s far more common than any of us realize. After you read this books, you’ll be in a pretty good place.
